Busy weekend

My favorite part of the weekend...when it hits 5:00pm and Mike is DONE with work.
I told you I would muster up some pictures of Mike and I. (why does my son have a better tan than I do??)

We took baby Owen swimming on Saturday! He loved it...such a relief because it seems to be the only free entertainment these days.

My Aunt Cindy came in town ALL the way from Ohio. She is so warm and friendly, and just a joy to have around. I hope she doesn't mind me saying, but can you believe she is in her 50's. AMAZING!

On a day like this how could you not want to take a bath outside, right Owen?

Obviously we have a little work to do in the backyard. Luckily we have a wonderful view to distract us from the lack of yard.

Here's my little chef, helping mommy while I cook. (He's searching for a measuring cup)

Owen means...

What Owen Means
You are well rounded, with a complete perspective on life.
You are solid and dependable. You are loyal, and people can count on you.
At times, you can be a bit too serious. You tend to put too much pressure on yourself.

You are very charming... dangerously so. You have the potential to break a lot of hearts.
You know how what you want, how to get it, and that you will get it.
You have the power to rule the world. Let's hope you're a benevolent dictator!

You are friendly, charming, and warm. You get along with almost everyone.
You work hard not to rock the boat. Your easy going attitude brings people together.
At times, you can be a little flaky and irresponsible. But for the important things, you pull it together.

You are very intuitive and wise. You understand the world better than most people.
You also have a very active imagination. You often get carried away with your thoughts.
You are prone to a little paranoia and jealousy. You sometimes go overboard in interpreting signals.

I've been tagged!

I have been 'tagged' to contribute 7 random facts about myself. I'm supposed to tag others as well, but that seems rather time consuming...so anyone who reads my blog, assume you have been 'tagged' also to post 7 random facts about yourself on your blog.

1.) It takes me up to 2 hours to get ready.

2.) Growing up, I used to ask for liver and onions as my birthday dinner.

3.) I often fantasize that I am a professional dancer. For some reason, in my fantasy, my big dance solo always takes place in ward talent show.

4.) In every friendship Mike and I have shared with a couple, I have ALWAYS identified more with the husbands. (It must be my lack of attention to detail, or the inability to clean!)

5.) I am addicted to two TV shows..."Women Behind Bars", and "Intervention". Possibly two of the creepiest options on cable TV.

6.) Any time I buy something new I ware it that same day, or out of the store.

7.) I still sleep in fetal position, with the covers over my head.

Please don't rob us!

Mike is convinced that if I keep posting pictures of our house, stranger danger is going to come rob our stuff. Never mind that there are naked pictures of our son in the bath tub...never thought to wonder if someone might rob him (j/k mikey).
Anyway, my mom and a good friend have been asking for pictures of the house...so these pictures are for you! I promise I did not post these pictures to toot my 'decorating' horn...well maybe a little :) It's not much, but we are slowly getting the house where we would like it to be. Formal living room
Guest bedroom

Kitchen and dinning nook

Family room off of the kitchen

Mike's mother created this master-piece for us.

Random Pics

Somehow he thought this was going to get him to a standing position????
Our one and only thumb sucking picture!

Owen's signature smile!

New toy box! The tag on his toy box specifically states "DO NOT PUT CHILDREN INSIDE THIS CHEST", and what is the first thing Mike thinks to do with Owen? What else...put him in the chest!

"Mommy help!"
These are some pictures I have been collecting over the last few days. No real theme to this post...just some fun still shots of Owen. Mike thinks my blog fans are getting sick of ONLY seeing Owen, so I will try and muster up some pictures of Mike and I over this weekend!!

Cousinly love

About a month ago we had the rare opportunity to have Mike's brother, and his family visit for a few days from Oregon. This was Owen's first chance to meet Kim and Travis, and his precious cousin Benjamin. Can you believe they are only a week apart? Quite the size difference....what are you feeding him Kim??

A real master bedroom

So this is the first time in our 5...count that...5 years of marriage that we have had a real bed set in our bedroom . I love it! It is nice to spend a little time, and money into the room that is supposed to offer the most relaxation.

Coming Around the Mountain...

I am officially TIRED of all Owie's toys...I can only assume he feels the same way! Luckily we had dad on hand to get creative with his toy basket, a string of packing tape, and an old familiar tune of "She'll Be Coming Round the Mountain"! 4 trips around the house put us all down for a nap time.

Arizona Sunset, and Owen's girlfriend(s)

It is pretty rare, with our evening scedual to catch a glimpse of the beautiful Arizona sunset at just the right time. I really think that there is no other place that can capture the majestic beauty of the orange, red, and sometimes purple hughes to end a georgous sunny day!! We couldn't be happier here in Phoenix. Of course we do miss our friends in Albuqueruqe, and family that seems so far away, but we have really seemed at peace with this move. Normally there is the awkard adjustment time with any new location, but we have felt quite at home in our little oasis of a neighborhood. Luckily the susets are only the icing on the cake here in Phoenix.

Nothing like some playtime with Owen's girls before a fun day of shopping with their mom, Amy!

I am usually behind the camera for a reason...Yikes. Then there is dad...looking handsome as ever!

Eating, Playing, Sleeping!

So it seems as though I keep hearing the same question, "what do you do all day with Owen?" My answer: There are always a few variations...but for the most part it fallows a simple routine of eating...playing...more playing...sleeping! My days with Owen are best portrayed through a visual.
EATINGPLAYING
MORE PLAYING

SLEEPING
ROUND TWO...EATING (while enjoying the view)
PLAYING
MORE PLAYING
SLEEPING

THE END!
