Play Date
So Owen embarked on his first official play date. It pretty much played out like any typical date would... you know, the woman does all the talking, and the man looks aloof and completely disinterested. I am sure it didn't help that she was twice his size. Owen prefers a woman that can't swallow him whole.
Way to charm the ladies Owen! Hey, he has about 16 years to work on it.

How was Hawaii you ask...wonderful! How was it leaving Owen...TERRIBLE!!
I have never experienced a panic attack in my life. I now understand what my life would be like without him, and it was miserable. My breast pump broke on the plane, Owen was not taking a bottle AT ALL before we left, my mom was alone with no help to watch him, oh and our cell phone died shortly after we left with no cheap way to call home.
I told myself that Mike won this trip, for all his hard work...and I was determined to make this trip amazing for him. It wasn't hard to enjoy ourselves with free meals, spa treatments, snorkeling, zip line tours, and a free digital video camera. I mean, after the initial shock of leaving Owen, we were in HEAVEN.
Grandma did great with Owen, he is now talking a lot, eating GREAT, and smiling with out a ton of work. GOOD JOB MOM...and thank you. We will never know how to repay you for taking such great care of him.

Leaving on a jet plane...
Mike is always busy, and on the go for his job. However, we were able to capture some precious moments before yet ANOTHER business trip. Owen sure loves his father and son time...speaking of time with the boys...can you take him this Saturday, so I can get a facial???
Mike- just smile and nod!

Lights, Camera, Action!
Recently you would think that my son was the next Princess Diana, or Brittany Spears...allow me to explain. I can't seem to stop chasing Owen around the house with a camera in my hand, hence a camera in his face. I have become the annoying paparazzi stalking mother, after the next big shot.
Owen knows better now. He will give me a right, and left hook punch to block any real money making shots!!!

Time to Toot Mom's Horn
For me personally, motherhood has brought on a feeling of invincibility. You know the inward conversation, "If I can give birth and raise a child, I can do anything." So I have done anything. I used to be pretty creative, so I have tried to tap into that side of my brain again.
My first attempt was a set of paintings for Owen's room, then I planted some herb gardens in the backyard, and my latest attempt is a wreath for the house. I also have given myself time to read again, and have HAPPILY completed three 600 page books in two weeks. YEAH. Pretty good if I do say so myself...toot, toot!

Stay Young Forever
So yesterday in church a sister had brought her two week old, beautiful baby boy. Well of course he is beautiful...he looks just like Owen did when he was born. Oh, that baby made me miss my newborn Owen. However, at the time I was completely freaked out because he was so small, fragile, and still figuring out how to eat. But now knowing that he will be fine... he will learn how to eat, and he WILL get bigger, I wish I would have enjoyed his first month stage a bit more.
Now I finally understand when parents say "they grow up too fast". Look at this picture just a few short months ago. He ALWAYS had to ware his mittens to avoid scratching his face, and he barely fit in his newborn diapers, now is his waring 2's (aka 12-15 pound diapers). Where does the time go?? Soon he'll be in his awkward teen years with braces, pimples, and crushes on girls that don't know he exists. NOOOOOOOOOO! Stay young forever, Owen.
