Shopping

So the other day Owen was being such a pill. You know... doesn't want to lay down, doesn't want to be held, doesn't want to sleep...that kind of pill. So I just packed him up in his car seat, and said, "Owen, we are going to Old Navy so cheer up so mommy can shop for you."

Well the picture says it all. He sure lit up at the idea of a new outfit. Who knew our little boy, would take after his mother.

Hawaii

So Mike and I leave for Hawaii in about two weeks. Yes, I know...VERY EXCITING. However, not so exciting when I am leaving the one thing I can't imagine enjoying Hawaii without. OWEN. My pride and joy is being left with Grandma Kontak for a whole week.

Interesting how I long for a date night, a restful nights sleep, and a looooooooong warm shower...all things that exclude my little guy, and now I have the opportunity for a week...and all I want is my Owen to join us in Hawaii. Must we always want what we can't have?

Great Grandparents!

So Owen had an opportunity to meet his great grandparents last week. Boy did he love the inflections in Grandpa's voice!! It was also great to have them out here during a very mentally developing week for Owen. We bought a floor mat with hanging items, one of which plays a song when you spin a ball. After much work with Owen he is now making music all on his own. He is also rolling on his sides, and soon will be rolling to his tummy we HOPE!

How rewarding it is to be a stay at home mom, and know that I can aid in Owen becoming the best he can be. And how great to have family, and friends visit to share these mile stones with.

Baby Bjorn

What a great invention! I can still cook dinner, water the plants, and get ready all the while having Owen strapped to me.

One problem...when Owen falls asleep, and I would like to have him stay asleep, how do I get him out of this thing???

"What an angel"

Mike's aunt and uncle, Bruce and Carolyn, were kind enough to visit us this weekend. We had a wonderful time, as always. And for the 100th time all we have heard is, "What a perfect baby! Oh, he is so well behaved. What an angel!" Owen must be up for an Oscar with that performance.

All I have to say is....if they only knew!

Dad, Fun...Mom, not so much!

So the other night Mike was holding Owen in front of him, casually sing "Oh no, no, no" and then proceed to kiss Owen on the mouth. With out fail Mike would collect one precious smile with each kiss. Of course mom gives this game a try, and what do I get....a cross-eyed, scared look on Owen's face. Can babies really tell when you are trying tooooo hard? I guess so.

Developing Personality

I always heard how rewarding motherhood is when you baby smiles, and coos at you. I never understood how rewarding until Owen started developing his personality. Now he'll play games with dad, and he even smiles when his not passing gas...who knew?

100 Ways to Sleep

Isn't it amazing how our little ones can fall asleep anywhere? In a boppie, a swing, grandma's arms, car seat, or even the floor. Mike and I are so envious of his sleeping abilities, considering we function off of 6 hours of sleep each night.

We learn not to complain, because soon our baby won't need us as much anymore. Someday we will miss Owen's cries for food, or cries for mom to comfort him. For now I learn to find my pleasure in watching my baby, and the 100 ways he sleeps.

Bath Time Fun

So we anticipated bath time being the not so fun part of the day...on the contrary. This little man sure looks forward to hot tubing in the kitchen sink. Owen does have the luxury stainless steal model.

However, he is growing like a weed, so moving to the tub has become a necessity. He hasn't fancied this location quite as much considering he vomited few minutes after bath time...and it was right back in the bath for Mr. man!
